Riba horses are stabled in large, airy loose boxes, with wood shavings as bedding. Horses are fed teff (a good-quality variety of hay) in their stables and in the paddock, and are usually fed hard feed (cubes) three times daily; each horse’s feeding regime is, however, tailored to its special needs.

Livery clients have full use of all the arenas and may keep their tack in the yard’s tack-room. Livery is full livery, which means that all the daily routine of putting horses in and out, blanketing (in winter), feeding and mucking-out is done by the grooms. The yard also organises de-worming, farriery, drenching and vaccinations as part of the livery.

Livery clients can also arrange to have their horses lunged, schooled by one of the instructors, or to have riding lessons. Turnout for shows, trucking to shows, and groom’s fees at shows are extras.
Livery clients are welcome to call in whatever vet they wish, but in an emergency Riba will arrange for the yard’s normal vet (North Rand) to deal with the problem. Vet fees are the client’s responsibility.
